Chandler Center for the Arts announces the departure of executive director Thoma

RANDOLPH—Kurt Thoma has decided “for personal reasons” to leave the central Vermont area, thus taking him away from his position at Chandler Center for the Arts. Thoma arrived in Randolph from Michigan last August and took over the helm of Chandler with great enthusiasm. “His energy is contagious and we will miss him greatly,” said long time president of the board of directors Janet Watton, adding, “Kurt has built a performance program for the coming season that is sure to delight our dedicated patrons and hopefully will attract some new ones as well.”

Thoma leaves with regret and praised the dedication of all of Chandler’s volunteers, for their personal commitment in support of the arts in the community and the preservation of the historic 108-year-old music hall. Thoma expects to remain at Chandler until at least mid-August and will aid in the transition.
