March 19-20 — RANDOLPH — Cabin-Fever Reliever Theatre Workshops will be held both Saturday, March 19, and Sunday, March 20 at Chandler Center for the Arts in Randolph. Ages 6 to 18 are welcome to attend, with a sliding scale fee of $8-$20 per workshop. There will be a smorgasbord of theatre workshops for all ages!

The Cabin-Fever Reliever workshops are taught by Chelsea Funnery theater expert Kailie Larkin, co-director of the Chelsea Funnery program. She works as a teaching artist and public school theatre teacher to bring her love of the arts to students of all ages. There are opportunities for all ages, kids and teens, at the weekend program. Saturday, March 19 at 9 a.m. begins with youngsters 6-8 years old for “Clowns Abound,” an introduction to clowning. This class will also be taught from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for ages 9-12. Kids will discover their inner clowns through games and exercises. Dive into clowning through mastering the basics of mime and clown problem-solving. See the world from the eyes of a clown and find adventure at every turn. No theatre experience necessary, just a willingness to play.

From 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, older children and teens ages 12 years and up are invited to take the workshop “Theatre Improvisation: Building Characters and Scenes.” Students stretch themselves into a host of strange characters and build rich worlds as they explore a variety of games, storytelling, character making, and scene creation.

All the workshops will be offered on Sunday, March 20 as well, beginning at 11 a.m., building on what is learned on Saturday. Actors are encouraged to attend both sessions of the workshops over the weekend, but are also welcome to attend only one. The workshops are priced at a sliding scale in hopes of making the program accessible to all, and to encourage participation on both days. Pay online (www.chandler-arts.org), or send a check to Chandler Center for the Arts, 71 Main St., Randolph, VT 05060.
