Bridgewater Village School students say goodbye to building with “Peter Pan, Jr.”

Students construct the set of “Peter Pan, Jr.,” the last performance for students at the Bridgewater Village School, as it consolidates with Pomfret for the next school year.

April 8 and 9 — BRIDGEWATER — For more than five years, the students at the Bridgewater Village School, under the direction of music teacher Marcia Bender, have performed a full junior version of a Broadway musical “Peter Pan” complete with singing, acting, full set, and lights. As the school celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, it also will close its doors come June, as part of school consolidation with students from Pomfret. The school’s 34 students will perform “Peter Pan, Jr.” as their last performance in the school.

Performances are open to the public on Wednesday, April 8 at 10 a.m. and Thursday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome.
