BRAM to open season with a historical walk and talk

Saturday, June 4 at 10 a.m. — LUDLOW — On Saturday, June 4 the Black River Academy Museum ( BRAM ) will host its annual 5 K Walk for History. The walk will start and end at the museum, going down Dug Hill Road, then South on Route 103 and up to the museum at the green.  Registration is $20, students and seniors $10 and will begin at 10 a.m. with the walk starting at 10:30 a.m. Refreshments will be available. Please join and bring your four-legged friend.

As a tribute to the history of the Finns of Andover, a program/presentation of the Finnish-American photographer Kosti Ruohomaa by Deanna Bonner-Ganter, author of “Kosti Ruohomaa the Photographer Poet,” will be held at 1 p.m. at the Museum. There will be a question and answer period and refreshments including coffee and pullaa (Finnish dessert bread). Erik Johansson of Rockingham will play a variety of acoustical instruments and perhaps sing a few songs. Bonner-Ganter will autograph books.
