Living in retrograde

By Cassandra Tyndall

As we cross the threshold from September to October, we’ll get a sense of how the month to come promises movement and momentum.

Before that happens, Mercury will hit the brakes and head in reverse for its third and final retrograde of 2021.

In the sign of Libra, this retrograde phase may invite you to reconsider information and conversations, as well as your ideas about what relationships mean to you.
Whether it’s your most intimate connections, your friendships or other affectionate bonds you share with certain people, the extent to which you adapt, adjust and compromise may need to change. The funny thing about “people pleasing” — and let’s face it, we all do it to a certain extent — is really just manipulating someone else’s perception of you.

If nothing else, this retrograde phase of Mercury, until Oct. 18, will encourage you to get to the truth of the matter. Lies, deceit and misinformation in all areas are likely to surface and be revealed for what they really are. It may get a little unpleasant at first, but you’ll need to discover the tipping point before equilibrium can be restored.

Every turn, a trip down memory lane

We floated along Upper Royal Flush, enjoying the fresh, all-natural snow beneath our feet. It feels so good, this marvelous gift of nature. Soft, rotary turns as we kept our skis flat on the snow. Using lateral ankle flexion, we can adjust our edge angle to the terrain, letting our bases float over the snow.…

The light of my life

I have a friend who lives just outside of a major city in the South. He’s done well for himself; he drives a nice car, has a lovely wife and kids, has carved out a successful career in the insurance world, and lives in a beautiful home. Recently, we had a conversation about getting older…
