KILLINGTON— The Foundry at Summit Pond closed Dec. 12 due to a positive Covid case among it’s staff. It will remain closed until Friday, Dec. 18.
The news was announced this past weekend.
At 9 p.m. Dec. 11, Foundry posted on Facebook: “Today we received news that one of our employees tested positive for Covid-19. They are asymptomatic and we wish them a continued healthy recovery. In response, we have decided to close The Foundry until further notice.”
The post went on to say: “From the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have never wavered in our commitment to the health and safety of our staff, community, or guests. Our team has been innovative and dedicated to continuing to deliver the quality and excellence we pride ourselves in. We are taking this time to ensure our staff is healthy and that our property is prepared for your next visit. We value each of our guests. We appreciate your continued support and we look forward to seeing you soon,” the post continued.
The community response to the post was supportive, with comments of well wishes for a healthy recovery for those affected and thanking the leadership for making a tough choice to keep the community safe.
As with all Covid case the state will be contact tracing anyone they think may also be infected.
Chris Karr, the owner of the Foundry, also owns Jax Food and Games, the Pickle Barrel Night Club, Charity’s and the Water Wheel Trading Post, said no other properties were affected and the closure was out of an abundance of caution.
The infected person is doing well, Karr stated.
The Foundry will reopen on Friday, Dec. 18 for dinner service. King Arthur Jr. plays Saturday at 5 p.m.
