Voting opens for the third annual HKD “I AM a Snowmaker” Award

LUDLOW — Ski Area Management (SAM) Magazine and HKD Snowmakers have opened up the voting for the third annual HKD Snowmaker’s “I AM a Snowmaker” Award. Okemo Mountain Resort’s snowmaking team is one of six in all of North America to be named a finalist for this honor.

Over the course of the 2015-16 season, SAM Magazine and HKD Snowmakers joined to recognize six outstanding snowmaking crews from mountain resorts across North America. New this year, the award highlighted snowmaking crews rather than individual snowmakers. After all, it is a team effort. Each crew was tasked to create a video that shows why it is second only to Mother Nature. Teaser videos were released throughout the season, and now the full-length videos are live. The mountain resort community and our guests are invited to watch these videos, get to know these crews, and vote for their favorite.

The six snowmaking crews recognized include Stowe Mountain Resort, Vt.; Cataloochee Ski Area, N.C.; Whistler Blackcomb, B.C.; SundayRiver Resort, Maine; Okemo Mountain Resort, Vt., and Copper Mountain, Colo.

“This year, we are proud to showcase snowmaking crews from six world-class North American resorts,” said HKD’s Ian Jarrett. “Their stories show a special blend of intense commitment, strong work ethic, and a love for the outdoors. Take a look and see for yourselves!”
