World’s Fair begins Thursday

Sept. 15-18—TUNBRIDGE—The 145th Tunbridge World’s Fair returns to the Tunbridge Fairgrounds Thursday, Sept. through Sunday, Sept. 18.
The Tunbridge World’s Fair has run continuously since 1867 except in 1918, due to the great flu epidemic, and during World War II. Top events include harness racing, horse pulling, a swine show and live entertainment. It has garnered the prestigious Top 10 Time Honored Event award by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce. Enjoy great fair food like Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, wood-fired pizza, grilled corn on the cob, anything from the maple building, and favorites like blooming onions, sausage and pepper subs, fried dough, popcorn, and so much more.
Entertainment highlights include Agricultural Day on Thursday; harness racing Thursday and Friday; Antique Hill with log cabin museum and live action exhibits daily; and pig races daily. The grandstand will have acts such as a sheep dog trail on Thursday; music by Jamie Lee Thurston and Jillian Cardelli on Friday; a livestock cavalcade and kids’ pedal tractor pull on Saturday; Frank Fest, Best of Area 802 concert Saturday; and antique tractor pulls Sunday. The Larkin Dancers, local step dancers, will perform in the tent. Plus,much more, including rides, games, agricultural buildings, vendors, and the like.
Hours are: Thursday, 8 a.m.-9 p.m.; Friday, 7 a.m.-9 p.m.; Saturday, 7 a.m.-10 p.m.; and Sunday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Ticket prices are $10 on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday; $15 on Saturday; $8 for seniors on Friday only. Season tickets are $35.
