Woodstock Art Center holds grand opening celebration at new location 

Saturday, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. — SOUTH POMFRET — Celebrating their tenth year in business, ArtisTree and Purple Crayon have moved into a renovated 1891 barn in South Pomfret for the start of their 2014 fall classes. The new S. Pomfret facility, located only 2 miles from their previous location in Woodstock, will house a variety of creative spaces including a clay studio; a more accessible gallery; expressive arts therapy offices; two art studios; children’s movement and art spaces; and a dedicated adult movement studio – as well as a new music performance space with a stage and seating for nearly eighty.

The public is welcome to join the grand opening celebration at the new facility on Saturday Sept. 13 from 1 – 9 p.m. The grand event will feature art demonstrations, open house, food, live music, activities for children, a gallery exhibit opening reception, and more. A special opening ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m. to mark the occasion. This event is free and open to the public and will be held at 2095 Pomfret Road, South Pomfret.
