William Tracy Carris has my vote for Rutland County Senate

Dear Editor,

Come November, I’ll be taking great pride in my steps up to the ballot box; I can already envision the ink from the felt pen staining the box next to William Tracy Carris’ name. No question.

I first met Tracy when he joined the Planning Commission in 2010. The volunteer commission was undergoing an arduous and comprehensive update of the Poultney Town Plan; what better way to learn about your new home than by sifting through pages and pages of census data? What better way to learn about the issues facing our region than to take part in the painstaking task of reviewing and analyzing report after report, on topics such as affordable housing, the economic recession, renewable energy, environmental degradation and more? It’s no wonder he was inspired to extend his efforts; to the Rutland Regional Planning Commission, to the Chaffee Art Center, and now to the Senate.

Since our work together began in 2010 I’ve had the pleasure of sitting across from Tracy at many a meeting table. On the Poultney Downtown Revitalization Committee, the Broadband Committee and eVermont Program, the Poultney 2020 Initiative, the Rutland Regional Planning Commission, and in various other capacities around town; whenever a group came together to do good, there was a solid chance that Tracy would be among them, Diet Coke in hand, ready for action.

Ever since he arrived in Poultney, Tracy has been an unstoppable force; active, involved, engaged, and constantly working towards a better community. It’s time to turn that force loose on Montpelier. Tracy, I’m delighted to offer you my support. Voters, have a listen to what Tracy has to say – I’m proud to have him represent my interests in Montpelier, and I hope you feel the same.
