Vermont Philharmonic Orchestra graces Chandler Music Hall

Saturday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. — RANDOLPH — The Vermont Philharmonic brings their annual spring concert to the Chandler Music Hall stage on Saturday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m.

This year’s exciting program focuses on Russian masterpieces and features pianist Diane Huling with a performance of one of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s most enduringly popular pieces, his Piano Concerto #2 in c minor. Also on the program are the Overture to Russlan and Ludmilla by Mikhail Glinka, The Enchanted Lake, Op. 62 by Anatoly Liadov, and Alexander Borodin’s familiar and well-loved Polovtsian Dances from his opera Prince Igor.

Pianist Diane Huling has performed as a soloist, chamber player and Art Song accompanist throughout North America, South America and Europe. The New York Times has hailed her playing as “crystalline” and she is considered one of the best pianists in Vermont. In addition to her performance career, she has given time to conducting, teaching and composing. Conducting includes collaborations with Vermont Opera Theater, Montpelier Combined Choir, Johnson State College Choir, and the Montpelier Chamber Orchestra, for which she was the founding Artistic Director as well.

Tickets are available at the door, by calling 802-728-6464 or via www.vermontphilharmonic.org.

Chandler Music Hall is fully accessible and equipped for the hearing impaired, located at 71-73 Main Street, Randolph.
