Vermont Foodbank and Uber team up for holidays

Vermont Foodbank and Uber Vermont today announced the launch of a giving season partnership to help the Vermont Foodbank raise money and provide meals for children and families throughout the Green Mountain State.
Each year, the Vermont Foodbank distributes over 12 million pounds of food to thousands of children and families. During this season of holiday giving, Uber and the Vermont Foodbank are working together to build awareness and bring our communities together to give back.
“We are proud to work with the Vermont Foodbank during the holiday giving season to help feed those in need. The Vermont Foodbank helps provide food and resources to thousands people throughout the state. We are excited to launch this partnership to build awareness while donating to our communities and supporting the great work of the food bank,” said Cathy Zhou, Uber Vermont General Manager.
“We are grateful to Uber for helping us raise awareness about hunger and transportation and generating funds to ensure Vermonters are well fed this holiday season,” said John Sayles, Vermont Foodbank CEO. “Transportation is a huge issue for the people we serve. Fifty eight percent of our customers report having to choose between paying for food and paying for transportation or gas for a car. ”
Starting Dec. 6, Uber riders in Vermont can enter the promo code FEEDVT16 when they ride and Uber will donate $1 for every trip to the Vermont Foodbank. Riders can enter the promo code every time they ride between Dec. 6 and Dec. 9.
