Thursday jazz jam session and discussion led by Prof. Fred Haas

Thursday, Nov. 19 at 6:30 p.m. — WOODSTOCK — Professor Fred Haas will lead a discussion and jazz jam on Thursday, Nov. 19 at Norman Williams Public Library, Downtown Woodstock. At 6:30 p.m., hear the informal discussion by Prof. Haas titled, “What is the Jam Session and Its Place in History?” From 7 to 9 p.m., enjoy music and art. The evening is open to all instrumentalists, vocalists and visual/photography artists as well as audience members.

Instrumentalist and vocalists should come prepared with a jazz standard tune to play in a creative and supportive jam session led by Fred Haas. The jam session is a perfect place to meet and play with other musicians, network and enjoy the hang! Please bring a snack or beverage to share. No alcohol is allowed at the library.

New this session, visual artists or photographers are invited to interact or capture the energy of the musicians, led by Judy Brook. Bring a sketch pad or camera. The event is free. Musicians, RSVP online at www.interplayjazzandarts.org.
