THE RICOCHET DUO

Saturday, May 7 at 7:30 p.m. — BRANDON — Ricochet Duo, the collaboration between pianist Rose Chancler and percussionist Jane Boxall, perform at Brandon Music on May 7 at 7:30 p.m. Their program “Wired” is a new electro-acoustic and minimalist concert program that explores crossover between classical and popular styles, emphasizing rhythm and the interlocking of piano and marimba sounds. The duo will perform works by Nancy Van De Vate, Marc Mellits, Paul Elwood, Steve Reich, Teresa Procaccini, among others.

Chancler and Boxall joined forces to form Ricochet Duo in 2008 after Chancler advertised on Craigslist: “Seeking classical musicians for collaboration.” The duo is dedicated to celebrating the music of the 21st century and actively promotes the works of living composers. They have crafted multiple programs over the course of their collaboration, ranging from a program of music by women composers to a broad-ranging selection of ragtime and tango music, as well as a tribute to the late Adirondack conservationist, self-proclaimed woodswoman, author, and friend Anne LaBastille.

Concert tickets are $20. Reservations are recommended for the show and required for dinner ($20). Venue is BYOB. Contact 802-247-4295 or info@brandon-music.net for reservations.  Brandon Music is located at 62 Country Club Rd., Brandon.
