Walk, jog or run your way to the finish line!

KILLINGTON — The Biggest Loser RunWalk is returning for another Half Marathon/5K and one-mile Kids’ Race on Sunday, July 26 in Killington. From the first-time runner to the elite athlete, the Biggest Loser RunWalk Killington encourages visitors and locals to hit the wooded roads and gear up for an inspirational event in the heart of Vermont’s Green Mountains. Registration includes an exclusive Biggest Loser running shirt, chip-timed bib, finisher’s medal, free race photos and a goodie bag filled with offers including a 2.5 hour “Learn to Ski/Snowboard” lesson and buy-one-get-one-free offers such as disc golf, zip lining, mountain biking and more.

The 5K route travels through Killington’s downtown and features breathtaking views of Killington Peak, the second highest peak in Vermont. The Half Marathon route travels along rustic wooded roads with stunning views of the Green Mountains. Each course has a twist! Participants run/walk down the mountain, then take the Snowshed Express Quad back up to the finish line. Both races start and finish at the K-1 Lodge.

After the race, participants, family and friends can celebrate and relax at the post-race concert featuring “The Biggest Loser” contestant and Nashville recording artist Dan Evans and fellow alumni Pam Geil and Matt Hooper, or take in the lush green landscape during a gondola ride to Killington Peak.

Challenge America! On Saturday, July 25, participants and the community can get inspired at the Health & Wellness Meet and Greet from 12 to 4 p.m. located at the Snowshed Lodge. In addition to packet pick-up, there will be race tips, meet-and-greets, entertainment, and great exhibitors/vendors. Lectures will include: “Food & Fitness,” “The First-Time Runner,” and “Biggest Loser Q&A.” Afterwards, participants are invited to a free outdoor concert by Bim Skala Bim, one of the premier bands kickstarting the third wave of ska in the 1980’s.

The Town of Killington partnered with Dan and Jackie Evans, founders of The Biggest Loser RunWalk and Season 5 contestants on NBC’s hit show,“The Biggest Loser” to offer the RunWalk in a non-intimidating environment with a long time limit to allow runners and walkers to complete the race at their own pace.
