After this past election in Killington, I would like to thank everyone for coming out and voting. For those of you that did cast a vote for me, Jim Haff, thank you very much. I understand the platform that I ran (and will continue to run) on is a tough one to get into office. It’s simple, but details that the town employees need to pay their deductible and part of their premium. My opponent calls this “being toxic to the town employees,” I call it fair.
The other issue that I ran (and will continue to run) on is that our money would be better spent on our municipalities core departments and facilities not some regional chamber. If you read the “As The Ski Turns” blog, you can see some letters written from this regional chamber’s president, which I find amusing as he states that without the town’s help they would not exist.
So once again, thank you for your vote. And to the others that did not vote for me this year, please continue to stay informed, read The Mountain Times because I do post many letters to the editor there where I attempt to highlight issues I feel will adversely affect our town’s future. But thank you to all that came out and voted.
Jim Haff, Killington
