Team Romulous and the return of Timothy Leary

Dear Editor,

Last Wednesday, June 15, at The Local in Rutland, Team Romulous raised money for animal cruelty investigations against a background of outrageous music by Rick Redington & the Luv with Swamp Cabbage. Founder Walter Parks and Rick generously donated their time for our cause. In his column last week in the Mountain Times, DJ Dave Hoffenberg said everything that needs to be said about Walter Parks and Richie Haven’s collaborations.

We were fortunate to have bidders on many of our silent auction items at the event. The 50/50 was a success and the winner, Joe Walker, generously donated his half back to Team Romulous!

Timothy Leary, “the Psychedelic Sheep,” returned to the fold after many years. He will now be focusing his time on Team Romulous! He and his flock were one of our first rescues in the early 70s. Soon they were well enough to go back out into the world. We bid them farewell and have not seen them since then.

Learning of the crucial need for animal cruelty, however, they are ready to spend the rest of their time serving Team Romulous!

There are new cases of Animal Abuse every week. We are here to respond. Please contact Team Romulous, at the Vermont Volunteer Services for Animals (VVSA) if you witness cruelty and help “animals who don’t have people like us to take care of them.”
