Sun style Tai Chi offered to help with arthritis and fall prevention

Friday, April 3 at 4 p.m. — RUTLAND — Learn the traditional Sun style of Tai Chi on Fridays from 4 – 5 p.m. at Godnick Adult Center in Rutland, with instructor Larry Walter. This particular form has been modified to address persons with arthritis, but has also been proven to reduce falls, improve coordination and balance, mood and posture, and can reduce blood pressure and control blood sugar. The moves being taught will require very gentle movements of all joints with an emphasis on safety and fun.

Class size will be limited; applicants will be accepted by order of application. Each class builds upon the former, making it imperative that students commit themselves to a consistent  attendance record. For those who may miss a session, a video is available to walk students through any particular moves that have been missed.

Godnick Adult Center is located at 1 Deer Street (just north of Woodstock Avenue), Rutland. The class is free, but pre-registration is required at 802-773-1853 or lorih@rutlandrec.com.
