Summer concerts begin in West Rutland

Thursday, July 9 at 7 p.m. — WEST RUTLAND — The Town of West Rutland presents its annual summer concert series held on the Town Hall Green, with six concerts throughout the summer. Concerts will be held Thursday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. beginning July 9, through Aug. 13. Erik Wener’s new band FM will kick off the series on July 9; Distant Thunder on July 16; local favorite The Phil Henry Trio on July 23; Duane Carleton on July 30; Jim Gilmour Aug. 6; and the series closes with West Rutland School’s Rock Lab Aug. 13.

The newly renovated Town Hall auditorium continues to be a very busy place with a number of community events, theatre, school concerts, fundraisers and movies throughout the year. Based on a survey, outdoor concerts was the most popular request by town residents. The Town Hall Green presents the perfect outdoor setting, and if Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate, the auditorium is available upstairs.
