Stone Valley Arts Center presents Art of the Goddess collage workshop

Saturday, Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. —MANCHESTER—Explore the myth and insight of a new Goddess and channel her wisdom into our collage making.  This workshop is created in collaboration by astrologer, shamanic healer, and mindful outdoor guide Cathy Walker and collage artist Heidi Smith Bagley.

Great for beginners and masters alike, collage is an intuitive and intentional, creative, and often surprising art form. Heidi will introduce us to the tools and materials, and to the flowing technique of creating an intuitive collage. Then using art, archeology, astrology, myth, and storytelling Cathy will introduce us to the Goddess and her prolific territory. She will then lead us through a rich guided meditation where we will meet and experience the Goddess each in our individual way. Participants will take that experience into their collage making to discover surprising, sometimes subtle, and always a meaningful message from within. They will end with a time of sharing and reflection for those who desire.

The feature goddess for Oct. 17 is Sedna. Sedna lives in the stories of the indigenous peoples all across the Arctic region. Her story is remarkable, it tells how a young teenager became a goddess, about hubris, wounding, and deep transformation.

All materials will be provided. Cost per class $25. Participants must pre-register to save a spot for themselves at stonevalleyarts.org in classes section. The workshop is open to 10 people, including instructors.
