Sky Blue Boys open the fall season at Tinmouth’s Old Firehouse

Saturday, Sept. 5 at 7:30 p.m. — TINMOUTH — Winter comes early in Tinmouth, so they open the fall season while it’s still the tag end of summer. And what an opening: The Sky Blue Boys, featuring Banjo Dan and Willy Lindner will be at the Firehouse on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 7:30 p.m. They fill the modest house every time, delighting one of the most enthusiastic audiences around. Please note: This is a Saturday concert; all the others will be on Fridays.

The Sky Blue Boys have revived the tradition of “brother’s duets.” They have built up a large repertoire of wonderful old ballads, parlor songs, heart songs and sacred numbers. Heeding their own musical instincts they have expanded the accompaniment to include a variety of acoustic instruments and added many newer songs including several of their own compositions.

The Old Firehouse is at Mountain View Road and Vt. 140 in downtown Tinmouth. Doors will open at 7 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $10, 90 percent of which goes to the performers. Homemade desserts, coffee and tea will be available; donations for them will help support community activities.
