Skating, broomball return to Giorgetti Arena

Tyke Skate time is for ages 6 and under with parent/guardian and provides an opportunity to introduce skating to young children. Grab your little ones and join us on Wednesday mornings from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Carrying children in arms, slings or packs is not allowed. Fee is $6 per family with skate rentals available for $1.

Intro to Figure Skating is for those who are looking to sharpen and enhance their freestyle skills and is recommended for those who already have a solid foundation of figure skating. There will be 30 minutes of instruction time and 30 minutes of free practice time which will occur at the beginning of the session. All sessions will be on Sundays, 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Session 1 will run for six weeks from Jan. 1 to Feb. 5; fee is $160 for residents and $171 for non-residents. Session 2 will run for three weeks from Feb. 12 to Feb. 26; fee is $80 for residents and $91 for non-residents.

Broomball, a pastime favorite, has returned Giorgetti Arena! Grab your family, friends and favorite rubber-soled shoes for a night of easy-to-learn fun! A helmet and clean shoes are needed. Sticks and balls are provided. The program runs on Tuesday nights, 7:45 to 9:15 p.m. Fee is $4 for residents and $5 for non-residents, per night.

Giorgetti Arena continues to offer times for public skating and stick and puck on various days, freestyle skating on Thursdays and Saturdays, and adult coed drop-in hockey on Monday nights. Visit rutlandrec.com/giorgettiarena for weekly schedules and fees.
