Saturday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. — RANDOLPH — On Saturday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m., Chandler Center for the Arts is excited to bring two talented local bands to the upper gallery. Chandler’s Esther Mesh room will be filled with good food, good drink and great music. Snacks from Cabot Creamery will be available by free will donation; beverages both alcoholic and non-alcoholic will be for sale by Valley Bowl; and most importantly wonderful music will be performed by both bands, Second Wife and Haywire.

Second Wife is an acoustic trio including Jim Sardonis, Eric Sakai and Jim Green, original members of the popular rock band Second Wind. They bring strong vocals and tasty licks on guitars, dobro, and bass to a mix of original songs and the music of diverse artists like James Taylor, John Mayer, and Lyle Lovett.

Haywire is a high-energy five-piece string band well known since 2008 for providing the heartbeat for a rollicking good time. They will be playing a set including well-known standards and more obscure covers from the American songbook, as well as original songs and instrumental numbers. Eric Graham (electric bass), Rudi Ruddell (guitar, harmonica, percussion), Peter O’Connor (mandolin), Andy Mueller (fiddle, mandolin), and Adam Smith (guitar) lay down a rock-solid rhythm which serves as the backbone for lyrical improvisations, catchy hooks, tight vocal harmonies, and an infectious groove.

This event will be a benefit for Chandler Center for the Arts to help the organization continue to provide arts and cultural experiences for the people of Randolph and beyond. Tickets are $12, available by calling the box office at 802-728-6464 or at the door.

Chandler Center for the Arts is located at 71-73 Main Street, Randolph. For more info, visit chandler-arts.org.
