Rutland Rec offers new music program

Thursday, Jan. 12 at 6:30 p.m.—RUTLAND—The Rutland Rec Department is offering a beginner/ intermediate guitar class starting Jan. 12. This class focuses on playing notes on the guitar (six string) and guitar music. The course is designed for both beginner (no prior experience required) and intermediate students.
All students will work on the same songs; however, beginners will focus on notes in first position plus learn to use tablature notation and intermediate students will play notes in different octave ranges and fret positions as well as melodies across a single string.
Intermediate players who wish to begin learning how to read music will be given additional handouts.
Instructor Ron Pulcer will teach this class on Thursdays, Jan. 12-Feb. 16, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Godnick Adult Center, 1 Deer St., Rutland. The fee is $68 for Rutland residents and $79 for non-residents. Students must have a guitar. Register at rutlandrec.com.
