Rutland Curbstone Chorus to perform at Brandon Town Hall

Saturday, Aug. 20 at 7:30 p.m.—BRANDON—The Rutland Curbstone Chorus, the all male barbershop a cappella singing group, will perform at the Brandon Town Hall on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 7:30 p.m.

The Rutland Curbstone Chorus is well known for its barbershop harmony and has become one of the premier choruses in the musical arena of Vermont. Formed in 2006, the chorus has performed in venues of all kinds throughout the Champlain Valley, including at the Paramount four times, opening for Rockapella in 2009 and winning best of show in the Really Big Show event.

The current group offers a tighter, brighter, harmony sound inspired by its new director, Vermont’s Ben Green, who learned his musical skills locally from Rutland City Public Schools, Lakes Region Youth Orchestra, Vermont Youth Orchestra and Shrewsbury Jazz, as well as major opportunities for growth under music director Rip Jackson at Grace Church. Green lives in Rutland with his new wife, Tegan Waite.

The Brandon concert is Ben’s directorial debut and also introduces two new quartets, singing traditional barbershop and “do wop” music. Tickets for the show are $8 and $6 for seniors and active military personnel.

Brandon Town Hall is located at One Conant Square. For info, call 802-247-5420.
