Powder day hits in mid-May

Meteorologists report that a good snowstorm in May happens only about once every five years.  This was one of those years, as a storm dropped 5 inches of snow on Killington Resort during the night Sunday, May 15, creating a legitimate powder day on Monday. Amazingly, reports state that after a less-than-stellar winter, this storm accounted for 6 percent of the total snowfall at Killington this season. Lucky locals hiked to the top to enjoy the fresh snow. Friday the lifts will power up for its 184th day open.
