Pittsford rec. trip to NYC another success

Dear Editor,

On Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, the Pittsford Recreation Department sponsored a trip to New York City for 56 passengers who loaded the Mountain Son Tour Bus, Inc. of Mendon, Vt. We had 40 tickets to see Radio City Christmas Spectacular 2 p.m. show. Folks who attended the show were once again amazed with the choreographing and movement of the world famous “Rockettes” and said they had a “marvelous time.” The others who didn’t have Radio City tickets were on their own, free to do their own thing at their own pace. They enjoyed the sights, sounds and most importantly the delicious food of the very busy city.
The Recreation Department would like to recognize Kathy Shortsleeves for her hard work from start to finish with this program each and every year. For her the trip begins in May or June when that year’s show schedules are released. Shortsleeves works with the Recreation Department scheduling this particular trip for us. She helps with ordering tickets in July when the Recreation Department’s new fiscal year begins, finding reliable transportation and usually attends the bus trip as a representative of the Pittsford Recreation Department. During the summer she helps the Recreation Department publicize and advertise the trip. Her outings are very organized and the Recreation Department, the participants and our vendors really appreciates her keen eye for detail.
This year Kathy Shortsleeves was unable to commit to traveling with the trip. So she found someone as organized, resourceful and safety minded as herself to fill in. Someone who had been on these trips before and saw how things where handled. We’d also like to thank Kelley Mills, for taking the reins as the on bus trip lead and making sure everyone who supposed to was able catch the bus before it left the state and return safety.

Sincerely,
Randy Adams, Pittsford recreation director
