“Lost Treasure,” oil on canvas, by local artist Rita Fuchsberg is part of an exhibit on display through May 3.

Saturday, April 18 at 5 p.m. — WEST RUTLAND — The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center is currently hosting “Lost Treasure,” an exhibition of paintings by local artist Rita Fuchsberg on display at 636 Marble Street, West Rutland. The exhibit displays through May 3.

Rita Fuchsberg owned and ran the Foxhill Gallery in Poultney, and is known for her strong, large, visceral collages and paintings. Abstract treatment of figurative images is featured in Ms. Fuchsberg’s work: strong in rich color and raw textures, often provocative in content and imagery. The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center is privileged to present the original work of this fine artist.

There will be a reception for the artist, free and open to the public, from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, April 18. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., or by appointment.
