Okemo garners media accolades

LUDLOW – With the 2015/2016 ski and snowboard season officially underway, Okemo Mountain Resort continues to receive media accolades from some of the nation’s top publications: SKI, TransWorld SNOWboarding, Outside and others.

Okemo was ranked among the East’s Top Ten in SKI Magazine’s highly anticipated Resort Guide issue. Okemo made the list with an overall ranking of ninth place. Most noteworthy was Okemo’s first-place ranking in lifts. Once again, Okemo scored high marks in other categories as well: third for snow, fourth for grooming, fourth for on-mountain food, fourth for being kid friendly, seventh for dining and access, eighth for service, lodging and terrain parks.

SKI Deputy Editor Joe Cutts wrote, “…Well, readers love the Bubble, and why not? Cozy, butt-warming rides mean you can ski more on frigid days. ‘Greatest lift ever—especially this winter,’ says one sheepish hardcore. ‘Never thought I’d say that.’ ‘Allowed us to ski on a day we would have stayed inside,’ says another. Snow quality and grooming remain the true hallmarks for Okemo …”

Okemo’s partnership with Snow Park Technologies last year raised the stakes for Okemo Parks and terrain park aficionados. TransWorld SNOWboarding listed Okemo among its East Coast Top Five list of the best terrain parks in the November 2015 issue.

Recently, Outside editors posted a roundup of the best ski resorts in the East on the publication’s website. Okemo was included among the 13 New York and New England resorts listed. “Families still love the well-marked, superbly maintained trails, while advanced skiers have plenty of room to play all across the south face down to Jackson Gore Village.”
