The Book Nook raises money for local libraries

LUDLOW - The Book Nook raised nearly a $1,000 in donations and books for local libraries from its second annual Summer READing Book Fair. The focus of the event was to provide additional support for the Cavendish Fletcher Community Library, Ludlow's Fletcher Memorial Library and the Mt. Holly Town Library. These local libraries are not just places to find a great book to read, but key public spaces in our communities.

The book fair took place at The Book Nook store located at 136 Main Street and ran from June 14-23. Library supporters of local libraries were able to buy books for themselves of which 20% of the sale went to the library of their choice or they could buy books off a wish list for each library. This year's total nearly doubled last year's donations and given its success, it will be happening again next year.

The Book Nook would like to thank all the book buyers who stopped in the store to support their local libraries. We would also like to thank our local librarians for all the great work they do for our communities - Kata Welch of Cavendish Fletcher Community Library,  Jill Tofferi, Ginger Palmer and Lindsay Grattan of Fletcher Memorial Library and Lynne Herbst of Mt Holly Town Library.
Each of these libraries also hold book sales throughout the year.
