Rutland Rugby shuts out Black River

After a two week hiatus from games, Rutland Rugby travelled to Ludlow and faced local rivals Black River, the second meeting between the teams this year.

On a wet pitch, captain Maxx Steinmetz opened up the scoring with a try off of an opposition scrum down. Followed shortly there after by an open play try from Pete "Pepsi" Dayton later in the half.

Both tries were converted by Rob Bliss, who also kicked a penalty at the end of the half to bring the score to 17-0.

The second half opened the way the first ended, through a penalty kick by Chris Olsen. Two unconverted tries followed in this half, scored in open play  by Ryan Blain and Charles Whittemore.

At the blow of the final whistle in this "Top Shelf" display, the score stood at 30-0.
