KMS freestyler places in top-20 at US Nationals

Killington Mountain School's (KMS) Matt Price, of Rutland, showed continued success this weekend, taking Canada by storm at the CanAM U14 Banque Laurentienne in Mont Tremblant, Quebec, as he took bronze in giant slalom competition on Friday. Price is a seventh-grader at KMS.

Price finished with a combined time of 2:02.41, just one one-hundredth of a second behind second-place finisher Chauncey Morgan, also of Vermont. Price is the reigning U14 Vermont Slalom Champion.

In Ladies Moguls at the U.S. Freestyle National Championships on Friday at Heavenly Valley in California, KMS senior Allison Benedict finished in the top 20 in the country, taking 18th place. Benedict competed against the likes of U.S. Ski Team and Olympic Team Members Heather McPhie and Hannah Kearney, who took gold and silver, respectively.

Benedict, of Scarsdale, N.Y., finished second in the USSA Junior National Dual Moguls Championships in Park City last month as well.
