On May 1 at approximately 1:08 a.m. Troopers from the State
Police Barracks in Rutland along with Killington Fire Department
and Rutland Regional Ambulance Service responded to a single
vehicle crash on Roaring Brook Road near the intersection of
Telefon Trail in the Town of Killington.
Investigation revealed that the vehicle, a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer,
was traveling south on Roaring Brook Road when driver Branko
Stojanovik, age 25 from Killington, lost control of his vehicle and
collided with a telephone pole. The vehicle continued to skid
southbound when it crossed Roaring Brook Road and went over a small
embankment before rolling onto the passenger side and striking a
tree with the roof. Stojanovik and his passenger Steven
Jasiorkowski, age 39, from Killington, were both taken to Rutland
Regional Medical Center for treatment to their non-life threatening
injuries. Both were wearing seat belts. The vehicle has been
deemed a total loss. Stojanovik was suspected of being under the
influence of alcohol and charged with careless and negligent
operation.
