Killington Parks and Recreation offers new programs

The Killington Department of Parks & Recreation (KPR) recently announced its 2012 summer program offerings. The popular day camps, sports camps, swim lessons and swim team will all return. Additionally, this summer will feature new programs including a weekend youth adventure program and a circus camp.

KPR's two new and exciting programs are - Circus For All and VT Youth Adventures.

At Circus For All, children will learn the art of juggling, spinning plates, devil sticks, human pyramids and more! Children will gain encouragement in order to attain goals and reach personal excellence at their own pace. They will develop skills in concentration, persistence, patience and confidence in a fun and positive environment.

VT Youth Adventures provides outdoor leadership and adventure experiences to youth in the Killington region. Utilizing adventure and challenge as underlying themes, youth will learn valuable life skills grounded in a tradition of promoting healthy lifestyles and academic success, while providing meaningful, tailored, and enticing adventure experiences varying from kayaking to map reading, basic wilderness first aid and compass use.

"The Parks & Recreation staff has been anxiously awaiting the arrival of summer all year," said Lyndsay Gang, Interim Director for Killington Parks & Recreation. "We're excited to share fun and exciting experiences with children of all ages all summer long."
