The Ludlow Rotary Club is pleased to be helping an orphanage in
Uganda. We have a local connection so it makes this project so much
more fulfilling. A community member will be visiting the
Malayaka House with a group of Champlain College students in early
May and they have graciously agreed to bring extra checked bags
with some of the items on their wish list.
Some requests include: Toothbrushes and toothpaste, shoes for
children ages 2-19, pants for children 2-19, and bathing suits for
children 2-19, bed sheets, pillow cases, towels, deodorant, razors
for shaving, coloring/activity books, children's books for all
ages, toys, water bottles, thermometers (the ear ones are best)
balls of any size to play with, laminated educational posters,
school kits (pencil case, ruler, pencils, erasers), dish cloths,
tablecloths, reusable grocery bags, padlocks with long hooks, sand
paper for wood and metal.
Please bring any of the above items to a drop box located at
Benson's Chevrolet, Peoples United Bank, Fletcher Memorial Library
or Ludlow Insurance Agency before April 27. We also will have
a drop box at our annual Penny Sale on Saturday, April 28 for last
minute donated items.
