The 2012 Brandon Independence Day Parade Theme is 'Over the
Rainbow,' announced the committee April 16. Prizes will be awarded
in various categories. Registration will begin in June and
application for entry into the parade will be accepted through July
2.
The festivities begin with the Great Brandon Independence Day
Street Dance on Friday July 6. The street dance is held next to
Brandon's Central Park with food vendors, dancing and fun for all
ages. Saturday, July 7, the festivities kickoff at 9 a.m. in
Central Park with food, vendors, karaoke and more. The Parade steps
off promptly at 1 p.m., staring at Park Street and High Street
intersection. The Great Brandon Independence Day Fireworks
festivities start at 6 p.m. at the Brandon Park Village located
just off Rt. 7 north of Brandon.
