You may still donate to Brand-Aid Fund that benefits the Town of
Brandon, Vermont. Brandon was hard hit by Hurricane Irene and the
Flood of '11. Friends, former residents, family members, and people
all over the world have been calling and emailing and
donating. The Brandon Area Chamber of Commerce established the
Brand-Aid Fund to help members of our business community. The
intent of the fund is to assist those businesses trying to re-open
as quickly as possible. It might mean a relocation for some, or
shoring up a building. Or gutting the inside and starting over.
Some business or building owners have flood insurance although it
doesn't sound like many.
The Brandon Chamber of Commerce officials have created parameters
on the disbursement of the fund. The important news is that you can
help! Every penny donated will be disbursed. Immediately, donations
may be made by credit card via PayPal. You do not have to be a
PayPal member to donate this way. You may donate by sending a
check: please make checks payable to Brandon Area Chamber of
Commerce and mail to: Heritage Family Credit Union, 2 West Seminary
St., Brandon VT 05733 Attn: Wendy Bizzarro. Donations are not
tax-deductible. The Brandon Area Chamber of Commerce is a 501C6
non-profit organization, not a 501C3. Business owners can check
with their tax advisor regarding the donation being a business
expense.
