Ludlow man dies after colliding with tractor trailer truck

CAVENDISH - On Monday, Sept. 9, at approximately 5:30 p.m. Vermont State Police along with Chester Police, Proctorville Fire, Ludlow Fire and Ludlow Rescue responded to a report of a vehicle crash between a tractor trailer truck and car, on Vt. Route 103 in Cavendish.

Upon arrival it was determined that Brenton Stilwell, age 29 from Ludlow, was traveling north in a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee when he drifted over the yellow center line and collided with Robert Morris, age 52 from Panton, who was traveling south driving a 2007 International 9900I tractor trailer truck.

Stilwell appears to have not been wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle.  Stilwell was transported to the Springfield Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

It is still being investigated as to why Stilwell's vehicle traveled over the center line. Morris sustained no injures from this crash but was precautionary transported to Springfield Hospital to be checked.
