Mobile home catches fire, no loss

EAST WALLINGFORD - On Aug. 14 at approx. 8 p.m. the East Wallingford Fire Department responded to a fire at 610 Wallingford Pond Road in East Wallingford. When the fire department arrived they found an abandon/vacant mobile home fully involved. The fire was quickly extinguished. The mobile home was in the process of being removed from the property. No one was injured and the mobile home was of no value.
The East Wallingford Fire Department contacted the Vermont State Police and requested an origin and cause fire investigation be conducted. A Detective from the State Police Fire Investigation Unit and a Fire Investigator with the Division of Fire Safety responded to the scene on Aug. 15.
The fire was started by an employee working for the company hired to remove the mobile home. The employee was working on the interior of the structure when the fire began. The investigation is on-going.
