DRP awards four micro marketing grants

RUTLAND - The Downtown Rutland Partnership (DRP) recently announced the recipients of its Spring 2013 Micro Marketing Grants.
Each year, as part of its larger grant program, DRP offers members of the special benefits tax district the opportunity to apply for grants, which are awarded in support of their overall marketing budget. This year's grants were awarded to a variety of businesses/industries.   Awards were given for: 'The Arts Of Downtown', which will promote The Chaffee Downtown, The Paramount Theatre, Merchants Hall Theatre, Castleton College Downtown Gallery & Timco Art Gallery as a group; The Frogs And Lily Pads store for a branding effort including advertising and collateral; The Boys & Girls Club for signage and collateral; An animated holiday window campaign in downtown Rutland which will involve approximately 20 businesses.
"This year we had two applications which were efforts to promote 'multiple' businesses. This is something we encouraged, but was not mandatory as you can see," said Laura Conti of DRP marketing. "It's rewarding to see our businesses 'teaming together' to bring consumers downtown. Everyone benefits from it," Conti continued.
DRP offers Micro Marketing Grants on an annual basis. The next round of grants will be announced in early 2014 and the submission process is expected to commence in late spring.
