On Jan. 3, at approximately 4:32 p.m., the Vermont State Police
responded to a call from Dan Turco and Sons on North Shrewsbury
Road in the Town of Clarendon for theft of a snowmobile.
Upon arrival contact was made with employee Kathy Fitzgerald,
age 44, who advised between Dec. 31, 2012, and Jan. 3, 2013, a
snowmobile was stolen. The Snowmobile was described as being a 2002
Polaris XCSP 700 black in color with a red seat.
Through the investigation it was learned Kelley E. Staples, Jr.,
age 21 from Danby, Vt., and Jeremy C. Chadburn, age 28 from
Shrewsbury, Vt., had stolen the snowmobile on Jan. 1.
On Jan. 4, the Snowmobile was located on Chadburn's property in
its original condition.
On Jan. 9, at approximately 9:45 a.m., Chadburn was located at
his residence and issued a citation to appear in Rutland Superior
Court at a later date.
On Jan. 9, at approximately 12-noon, Staples was located at the
Marble Valley Correctional Center (being held on $10,000 Arrest
Warrant for Violation of Conditions of Release, Unlawful Mischief,
Disorderly Conduct, Possession of Stolen Property, and 3rd degree
Arson) and issued a citation to appear in Rutland Superior Court at
a later date.
