Dear Editor,
Because you folks love the place where you live so much,
I thought you might enjoy my grandson's letter to his teacher
after
our week at Killington (he really did write this):

My Time During the Outage of Hurricane Sandy: View of a
Nine-Year-Old Boy
Dear Mr. Pring,
I had a great time over the past two weeks! Our power went out
from Sandy so I stayed with my grandparents for three days and two
nights because they had power.
They live in a retirement community in Lakewood. My friends
slept over on Saturday because they had no power.
We had a lot of fun. On Monday, my mom and I went to the Salvation
Army to sort clothes and took stuff to Union Beach.
On Tuesday, we went on a trip Killington, Vermont with my parents,
sister, aunt, cousins, and grandparents for five nights and six
days.
On the way, we went to a shop called The Cracker Barrel were you
can shop and eat in one store! That place was really good.
We hiked three mountains: Killington, Pico, and Deer Leap. The
house was amazing! It had a hot tub, a beautiful view of
Killington, and it was huge!
I got two new shirts and we went to a farm! At the farm we got
to pet cows and when I pet one, it peed. We rode a gondola to the
top of Killington Mountain, 4,241 feet up!
On the top of Killington my sister and I had a snowball fight
and we got to watch skiers ski.
On the first night we went to a place called Casey's Caboose for
dinner. That place was good too. It was made of a real train!
I hope your two weeks off was as good as mine.
Love, Your Favorite Student
