First-time skier cross/boarder cross event deemed a
success
Dear Editor,
I didn't see an article on the FIS/USSA Hole Shot Tour held on
Bear Mtn. in Killington last month, and wanted to acknowledge all
the people who made this first-time Skier Cross/Boarder Cross event
such a huge success!
FIS, USSA, the Killington Ski Club/Killington Mountain School,
KSC/KMS Race Crew, Killington Staff, and a slew of local volunteers
combined to make this event a first-class international
competition.
A tremendous showing of some of our best local skiers, riders, and
supporters, combined to make certain this two-day (sun-drenched),
event would be both very exciting and successful.
Mazie Hayden foreran both days, our son, Rocky Lucian, placed 3rd
in the Skier Cross finals on day two (special thanks to Black Dog
Sports and Surefoot for their support), and several KSC/KMS skiers
and riders, among them local snowboarder Max Ellis, posted very
respectable results.
Congrats to all involved in the success of yet another awesome
home- town event!
Dot Lucian, Mendon, Vt.
