Picnics, music and fireworks under the stars in
CHITTENDEN - The Vermont Symphony Orchestra's Summer
Festival Tour brings picnicking, music, and fireworks to Chittenden
on Thursday, June 27. Broadway star
Sara Jean Ford joins the VSO for hits from the Great American
Songbook. Vocal numbers by Richard Rodgers, Cole Porter, and
George Gershwin share the spotlight with irresistible Benny Goodman
big band tunes. Orchestral favorites from the world of opera
add drama, fantasy, and exoticism to the songful theme. As
always, the concert closes with the spectacular 1812 Overture,
marches, and fireworks. The concert at the Mountain Top Inn begins
at 7:30 p.m., Anthony Princiotti conducting. Gates open at
5:30 pm for picnicking.
The Summer Festival Tour is a cherished holiday tradition in
Vermont. To celebrate summer with the VSO, just gather your loved
ones and a picnic, and treat yourselves to a magical evening of
music and fireworks under the stars.
