The Marble Valley Players will hold open auditions for
their March production of "Skin Deep," a romantic comedy by
Jon Lonoff. In "Skin Deep," a lovable, lonely heart named Maureen
Mulligan gives romance one last shot on a blind date with sweet,
awkward Joseph Spinelli. She's learned to pepper her speech with
jokes to hide her insecurities, while he's almost dangerously
forthright, saying everything that comes to his mind. They both
know they're perfect for each other, but will they be able to
make it work?
Maureen and Joseph were set up on the blind date by Maureen's
sister Sheila and her husband Squire, who are having interesting
problems of their own. With Maureen particularly vulnerable to
both hurting and being hurt, the time is ripe for many
unspoken issues to bubble to the surface.
Open auditions will be held on Sunday, Jan. 27 and
Monday, Jan. 28 from 6-9 p.m. at the West Rutland Town Hall.
Director Gary Thompson has roles for 2 men and 2 women, mid 40's.
