"Hermit Crab", by Barre artist Corrina Thurston, is one of many
works featured at Chandler Gallery's 20-30 / 2D-3D exhibit, opening
Jan. 20.
Chandler Gallery celebrates the work of 20-30 year-old artists in
the Vermont community with a new exhibit opening Sunday, Jan. 20
from 4 - 6 p.m.
The juried show, entitled 20-30 / 2D-3D, features work in a variety
of media that showcases the diversity and perspective of innovative
young artists throughout the state. Exhibiting artists include
Mayellen Matson, Strafford; Christopher Kerr-Ayer, Bethel, Mary
Blake, Plainfield; Abel Fillion, Tunbridge; Corrina Thurston,
Barre; Kara Pivarski and James Secor, Montpelier; Michelle Jacobs,
Barnard; Ben Peberdy, White River Junction; Scott Welch, Norwich;
Christina Orcutt, Woodstock; Matthew Ramada, Essex Junction; Tara
Goreau, Burlington; Lindsey Vladyka, Northfield; and Eliza Hunter,
Troy, NY and Brookfield.
James Sturm and Rachel Gross served as jurors for the exhibit.
Sturm is a cartoonist and the co-founder of The Center for Cartoon
Studies, a two-year MFA program in White River Junction. Rachel
Gross is an artist and printmaker living in White River
Junction.
20-30 / 2D-3D runs through March 13. Regular Gallery
hours for this exhibit are Fridays from 3 - 5 p.m., and Saturdays
and Sundays from 12 - 2 p.m., or by appointment,

The reception is free and open to the public, although donations to
support the Gallery's work are gratefully accepted. Light
refreshments and a cash bar will be offered. The Chandler Film
Society's winter/spring season opens that evening with a showing of
Ingmar Bergman's "Smiles of a Summer Night". Hospitality begins at
6:15 and the opening lecture by curator Rick Winston is at 7
p.m.
