BCODG: Excitement continues as tags change hands at tournaments home and away

This week many of the BCO members traveled to Randolph to play in the fifth stop of the Green Mountain Disc Club tournament. Pat McGinn and Dan Walsh both played extremely well and tied for sixth in the Am 1 division. This is, by far, the most competitive division in the state.

Playing in his first GMDG tournament, Mac tied for first in the Am 2 division. Even though we were not at home, BCO tags were still in play and Dan W. and Mac moved back into the top ten. This drops Jeremy M. from the leaderboard for the first time all year, leaving only three players remaining that have held onto top ten honors for the season.

Next stop for the GMDG is back here at Base Camp Disc Course, July 6. Home course advantage will play a big part with these guys taking top honors. Congratulations guys!

Back on the home front, the Sunday League continues to roll along. But before getting into the league part, a congratulations is in order for Justin L for his ace on 18. It was only the third ace on 18 but the first "in the dark." (Hey Justin, you need to work on your celebration high five next time. Five stiches to the face running into Tundji may not be the answer.)

Even though some of the top dogs were on the road, competition was still strong with Justin L and Christian moving back onto the leaderboard. Next week will be a huge league day as our members prepare for the 4th Annual Base Camp Open, when players will come in from all over New England for some practice rounds leading up to the July 6 event.

If you want to see what this sport is all about come and watch the Base Camp Open. You will see some of the top pros in all New England coming to take on this course. There are many great viewing areas and you are welcome to go out onto the course. First rounds starts at 10 a.m. and then second round starts at 1:30 and goes until 3:30 p.m.

This week's lingo of the week is: Black Ace, when you Ace the wrong hole!

Come on out and join us, the course is in amazing shape even after all the rain. Open 9-6 weekends and 10-6 weekdays. Lessons available.
