West Pawlet residence catches fire, not considered suspicious

WEST PAWLET - On Sept. 2, at approx. 3:37 a.m., the West Pawlet Fire Department responded to 3677 Vt. Route 153 in West Pawlet for a reported residential structure fire. Upon their arrival, they found a fully involved house fire, and the whereabouts of the owner/occupants could not be determined. Mutual aid was requested from area fire departments including: Pawlet, Granville, Middle Granville, North Granville and Wells.
Fire Investigators from the Vermont State Police, as well as from the Vermont Division of Fire Safety, were requested shortly thereafter for assistance in the investigation.
The investigation revealed the cause of the fire to be undetermined, but not considered suspicious. The residence was found to be unoccupied at the time of the fire.
