Poultney driver taken to hospital with head lacerations

RUPERT - On Sept. 11 at approximately 6:40 a.m. the Vermont State Police responded to a one vehicle crash on VT RT 30 in the Town of Rupert. When police arrived on scene the operator, Benjamin Hunter, age 20 from Poultney Vt., had already been transported to Rutland Regional Hospital for a laceration to his head.

Hunter was not wearing a seatbelt. The vehicle, a 2013 Toyota Corolla was located off the south bound edge of the roadway and had extensive damage to the front end and sides. It was determined that Hunter drove off the south bound edge of the roadway and collided with the guardrail before striking a large tree.  

The Vermont State Police are continuing to investigate whether or not another vehicle had been involved in the crash. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Vermont State Police at 802-442-5421.
