Brandon man colides with tree on Lake Dunmore Rd.

BRANDON - On Aug. 10, at approx. 6 p.m. New Haven State Police responded to a one vehicle collision into a tree on Lake Dunmore Road in Leicester, Vt.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the vehicle left the right side of the roadway and struck a tree before it came to a final resting position of uncontrolled rest. The operator, Richard Counter, age 72 of Brandon, advised that he did not remember leaving the roadway.
State Police advise that neither speed or alcohol were contributing factors and suspect a medical emergency was a contributing factor. Counter was transported to Porter Hospital. He was wearing his seatbelt but the extent of his injuries were unknown at the time of the release.
Counter was driving a 2001 Jeep, which suffered damages to the roof, passengers side paneling, front windshield, and hood; it is considered a total loss due to damages.
Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to contact Trooper Armstrong at the New Haven State Police Barracks at 802-388-4919.
